Saddle pressure monitoring

What is it?

A system to measure how pressure is transmitted between your ‘bottom region’ and the saddle.

Why do it ?

Areas of high pressure have been shown to lead to;

  • Discomfort
  • Soreness
  • Numbness
  • Dysfunction
  • Altered Posture
  • Poor endurance on the bike
  • Up to 60% of your body weight can be transmitted through your saddle

How do you do it?

A malleable, soft, mat is placed over the saddle and the cyclist gets on and pedals.

The mat has 64 pressure sensitive sensors that transmit pressure information live to a lap top via blue tooth.

Click here to see images from one cyclist on the same saddle with 4 different bike settings, we look at the effect of different hand positions on the bars.

The cyclist can use their own bike or our Wattbike.

The cyclist can use their own saddle or pre-select up to 6 different saddles (more if time allows) from our selection of over 50 different saddle shapes.

In addition to the GeBiomized system we also make use of the Selle Italia ID Match System.
